Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Fortunately, you don't have a deadline, do you? Take a rest and things will go better tomorrow.

There wasn't much time for crafting today. I did sew on some parts of the space rocket, though, and currently I'm in the process of fastening the tulle to the felt page base. There will be shooting stars to be moved under the tulle later.

Continuing work on dishcloths. Bathed the dog, did a couple small kitchen tasks. Tomorrow is a rescheduled appointment and laundry. The wind is very cutting today and I'm glad I hadn't planned to do anything outside.

Even a little bit is good if you're buried under chores!

Better luck tomorrow after a rest tonight on that.

I sewed a bunch of four-patches for my next quilt. Right now, it's all a bit random and scrappy, we'll see how it turns out.

I also planted a bunch of seeds:

Actually, they are just tiny craft stones that can be moved around under the tulle - good for a toddler's fine motor skills.

Very true. Especially as chores take longer the older I get. *sigh*

It is very easy to catch a cold when the wind is like that. It's better to stay inside. Wishing you warmer weather for tomorrow.

Wow, you've been busy! Good growth to the seeds!

Scrappy blankets are usually my favorite. Too early to start seeds here, good luck!

It's actually a bit late where I am. We've just passed summer solstice, but the weather should continue above 20C for another couple of months yet.

Had a very stressful day that I am attempting to use writing and crafting to come down from. LOng and short stitch, don't let me down!

Oh, you're so kind!

They should grow! Whether I get a full crop is another matter.

Thank you! The next few days should be warm, so hopefully they'll be coming up.

I managed to get in some "knitting while catching up on streaming to watch lists" time today. I watched 3 episodes of the final season of Grace and Frankie and The Death of Superman animated movie. My scarf is up to about 8 inches now (the pattern switches at 16 inches). I haven't measured and marked it yet.

I also spent around 2 hours helping my mother try to set up her new phone, a half an hour of which was spent on hold with customer service, just to be told they couldn't help us. Fun times.

Try to rest and better luck tomorrow

That sounds like progress to me

Always best to stay inside on a day like that.
Friday, January 6th, 2023 10:29 am (UTC)
Very nice

Thanks! It is. I should probably go back to doing it at the end of the day. I'm lucky the scarf is simple and I've memorized the pattern at this point, so I can just zip along... And it's a late Hanukkah present, so there is that motivation.

Indeed. I think I can still activate the phone for her, but she won't be able to keep her old phone number. Cross your fingers for me.
Friday, January 6th, 2023 12:02 pm (UTC)
That is very true.
Friday, January 6th, 2023 12:23 pm (UTC)
Ahahaha I forgot where you were and was envious it was already spring for you.
Friday, January 6th, 2023 12:24 pm (UTC)
Hope it helped!
Friday, January 6th, 2023 12:25 pm (UTC)
Oh jeez, good luck with phone shenanigans.
