Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Another cold day, but mostly sunny. I still stayed in, writing my spook_me fic and doing some more meece-work.
Three more mini meeces have ears, five more meece bodies are sewn up and stuffed, and I've crocheted five and a half pairs of ears. I now have one odd ear because I used the wrong yarn. Oops!

It sounds like the world should prepare for another meece onslaught. Can you crochet another ear to match the odd one and then knit a meece to match the ears?

The supplies I ordered for a couple of projects arrived today! I had intended to make my new dice tray my first task, but I have been a fool; I was so positive I had some paintbrushes knocking around somewhere that I didn't even bother to look for them before placing the order, and guess what I don't have. We're probably going to run to B&M before the end of the week so I'll keep a look out there. Unfortunately this kinda knocked my excitement and I couldn't muster up the courage to brave the sewing machine, so I just spent a couple of hours knitting this evening. The scarf is coming along well; a couple of times I've made a small mistake on the last stitch of a row, and I had absolutely no idea how I was doing it until today, so now that I know what the mistake is I'm doing a better job of avoiding it. Some of the supplies I got today are for some slippers I intend to knit next, which will be good because it's turned chilly as of this morning!

I've worked on the Christmas gift boxes page today. Not as much as I'd have liked, but I've made some moderate progress. 6 of the required 8 Velcro patches (5cm by 5cm squares) are sewn on, and I've cut out the boxes themselves, in 4 different colours. Tomorrow they'll get their "lids" in the same colour, but of sparkly felt, and I'll try my luck with the ribbons. There will be small, Christmas-themed foam stickers within each box, which is why I had to cut out doubles from each colour. And I might add a felt bell and a felt gingerbread man appliance to the page.

I'm doing two-colour striped meece and for the next batch, each one will have odd ears, one in each colour. (The first ten have matching ears). The extra ear is because I'd already cut the yarn for their tails, I was doing ears to match, and mistook a ball of cream yarn for the ball of pale yellow that had hidden itself in one of the yarn cones. The spare ear will get used when I make a meece using the cream yarn and another colour. I won't make a three-eared meece. Three ears wouldn't fit ;)

How annoying! Easy mistake to make though. Hopefully you can get suitable paintbrushes when you go to the shops.

Yay for figuring out your mistakes! Recognising where you're going wrong is an important skill to learn =)

Knitted slippers sound cosy, definitely needed with autumn getting chillier.

There will be a meece to match the extra ear, but I shall probably do its other ear in another colour. Most of the mini meeces are to be two-coloured with one ear in each colour, like I did with my black and white meeces. The ear won't go to waste.

You're welcome! A lot of meeces went out to new homes earlier this year, but I think you hadn't joined us yet, so you missed out. We'll fix that though.
