Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

Note: I'm just jumping in for badly_knitted while she is having computer problems. Therefore the daily check-in posts might lack certain details. Please, bear with me, and happy crafting!

I've finished the sunny yellow little angels and sorted out some more tiny sequins. All little silver stars are now picked out of the pile; tomorrow I'll start on the snowmen and perhaps do a bit more sequin work. Not too much, though, since we've got choir practice on Tuesdays, which means I need to leave the house in the early afternoon. If the physiotherapist isn't too late, I might even get into the little shop for sewing supplies before practice, but that's by no means certain.

Choir practice was grand. No luck with the sewing shop, though. The PT lady came late.

Oh, I have to go back to school to fetch the eggs I ordered, and the sewing shop is just two corners away, so I'll get my visit then... hopefully.

Choir practice is *always* fun. I can barely remember a year or two since I turned 10 in which I wouldn't have been singing in one choir or another. I'm a founding member of this one, and we've been singing together for what? 17 or 18 years? I'm not really sure, but that's a long time anyway.

I am gradually learning my way around the new computer, but using it is giving me a headache. Hopefully I'll adjust. I've adjusted screen brightness as low as it will go, but I could do with a lower setting. Most annoying is that they expect me to pay to use MS Office. Tech companies squeeze people for every penny they can get. It's disgusting.

No sign of Cyril the Squirrel today, but no squished squirrels on the road so hopefully he's still alive.

Does it have a night setting? That might be darker. Depending on your machine, you might be able to install open office. It's an open source code version of word and it's free. That's what I did when I got my new computer and they pulled the same thing. (This was quite awhile ago and you would need someone more tech savvy than I to guide you.)

Clearly he is resting up for his next big escapade.

It does, and I used that last night, but I turned it off this morning because it made everything look weird. I think I'll use it when I have the light on, but turn it off during daylight.

Thanks for the info. I'm about as much of a tech dunce as it's possible to be while still managing to use a computer, but it gives me something to look into.

Maybe so. Still no sign of him. I'm worried he might have gotten into a delivery van and be miles away by now!

Seem to be doing alright with the light levels now.

He is a squirrel with too much curiosity. Two days with no sightings, so I can't help but worry.

That is worrisome though. He's probably off doing squirrel things, not even considering that there are people concerned about his well being.

Seconding spiralicious on both dark mode and Open Office - I used Open Office for years after I graduated and no longer had access to MS Word. You might also look into f.lux - I used it to combat screen headaches and it worked well for a while, but the way it changes the screen's colours got to be too annoying to me. Still maybe worth seeing if it's something that'll work for you!

I used the night mode last night, but it makes things look weird in daylight so I'll just have it on when I've got the light on.

I had grand plans for the day, but when my mother and I got back from our errands, my uncle was sitting in the driveway, a week early, and we have no clue how long he's staying.

It was a successful knitting day, however. I practiced my stitches, I learned how to cast off, and I made a small stockinette swatch.

Always difficult to gauge, but he's traveling around because his apartment building is being remodeled for a month and he took the money offered instead of the free hotel room. He's always kind of shown up and disappeared as he pleases though. He should be able to move back into his place in about a week and we doubt he will spend all of that here, but we don't know.
