I haven't achieved much today - it was sequin sorting again. But at least the tiny gold stars have all been picked out of the pile and stored away separately. A good part of the silver and green ones have been done previously. That leaves me with the rest of those, plus all the blue, hot pink and red ones...

And the little angel hasn't turned up yet, even though I went through several possible places, including the waste paper basket. *sigh*

The angel will turn up when you least expect it. Maybe it slid back in with your other felt. At least you know for sure that it didn't go in the rubbish.

Warmed up shockingly today so I elected not to do any more knitting, but I baked some brownies!

Squirrel drama part two. No, he hasn't managed to get himself run over yet, but it's not for want of trying.

Today I decided I'd deal with the grass and weeds growing out of cracks in my driveway, and it's a good thing I did, because I was working away when an Amazon Prime delivery van pulled up with a package for my neighbours across the road. When the driver returned to his van though, he didn't get in and drive away. Instead, he left the van blocking the road and was wandering around peering under it. I figured he was having mechanical problems, but no. When a car coming the other way stopped, he called out an apology.

"A squirrel's gone under my van. It's on the wheel."

Well, that got my attention, so I said something like, "Oh, don't tell me he's causing trouble again!"

To which the driver asked, "Is it yours?" Um, no, it's not a pet, just a silly wild squirrel.

Luckily I hand my thick gardening gloves in my pocket, so I pulled one on and looked under the van. Sure enough, there's a squirrel sitting on the inside of the wheel, so I fished it out and tried to get it to go up a tree. It refused, so I took it into my driveway and it squirmed free.

I was worried it might go in the road again, so I picked it up yet again, found it preferred sitting on my hand to being held, and I took it down the garden and shoved it in the apple tree. It stayed there for a while, but next time I was out back it climbed down and started following me until I told it I'm not its mother and to go be a squirrel. Where it is now I have no idea, but somehow I doubt that's the last we'll see of Cyril the Squirrel.

Also transferred more files to the new laptop. So much I've got to remember *sigh*

Worked a couple rounds on the sand dollar doily today. Went out and cut off the last peonies foliage after it warmed up a bit.

I also got ready to start some refinishing of the inside of the living room cabinets. They are secondhand and stink of 80s Christmas candles that melted all over the bottom.

While I was out in the (fenced) yard with my dog, a woman walking by on the street came up my driveway to claim my dog had been running lose and had bitten her. She wanted money or booze. I gave her a cup of water and got her to go away. Sheesh.

More purl stitching practice. I'm trying to make sure I can do it without a tutorial in front of me.

I was also supposed to go take pictures of my aunt's cat for my own use later for Halloween edits, but I missed my window today.

More knitting on the new socks last night. I pulled out some sparkly sock wool I've had for many, many years. To be honest, though, almost all my yarn I've had for many, many years. I went through a fallow period on knitting and haven't added more than a couple of new skeins to my stash in several years. On the other hand, I have purchased a fair bit of spinning wool in the last year or two... but I've spun even less!

In any case, I've got enough wool in various forms to last me years, so I just can't bring myself to buy more until I've emptied at least a couple of these plastic bins XD They may just all get converted to socks at this rate...

Nothing wrong with having a big yarn stash either. Most of mine was bought over 20 years ago...
