Check-In Post August 21st 2022

Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I taped together the front panels of my little felt creches. The roof, the manger, Mary and Joseph are all fixed with double-sided tape (all 10 of them); next week I can start with the actual sewing/stitching. I decided to give my fingers a break today.

I completed square 25 of my throw and the last of the building squares - this one's Berlin. Now I'm taking a break because we've got a few days away in a week's time and once we're back I shall begin the rest of the Christmas knitting - there was a book of Christmas mini knits for sale half price...

I went to the park today! This is a big deal because it's the third time I'd been outside since I got covid early last month. It was a big park in the city which required a trip on the bus and then a tram. Am Cream-crackered.

Putting off going upstairs to grab my knitting bag because I am simply too tired, but in a good way.

I cleaned up my project bag this morning and loaded it with cotton yarn for dishcloths. Started the first one a bit ago. Leaning more pastel this round. After I do a few of them I might tackle my last longer-term WIP. I did put it in the basket (a doily).

Still healing from tonsil surgery. I am feeling much better and finally sleeping through the night. I tire quickly, so another good reason to work on mindless projects in the afternoon. Getting completely sick of scrambled eggs and macaroni cheese. Food choices additionally limited due to lack of fridge space (our fridge died and we have been using a mini fridge for just a few things). New fridge comes Thursday!

Cut out more buttons, and virtually helped a girl with her sewing issues. I'm trying to connect to my website and put a new banner up so hopefully after that's done and the bathhouse page is loaded, I can sew on the pink kirtle for a bit before bed.

I've been terribly absent and only checking in every now and then. This year has just been so damned hard for so many reasons it's all I can do to just keep my head above water and not push myself.
I did manage to finally get five of my old cross stitches framed and they're now hanging proudly around the new house. I've also dabbled with my old hama beads and done a few cards here and there, and made a spice rack from a DIY kit (still to be varnished). I upcycled a couple of side tables my old home owner left me and gave them woodgrain wallpaper tops so they match in better with everything else. The house throws up all kinds of odd little projects so I just tackle them when I feel up to it.
I started a little cross stitch bookmark kit whilst I'm waiting for my next kit to arrive. The next one will probably take me a few years to complete - it's huge 36" x 41"- but will hopefully look nice in the main living room. Hope everyone else is doing okay (or at least better than me!)
