New member (ish)! Intro post

Hello, all!

I'm very excited to have found y'all -- I haven't posted many times in the check-ins but I'll try to be a bit more consistent from here on out. I'm perspi, and have been fannishly-connected since like, 2005? 2006? (honestly I discovered fanfic while on Television Without Pity forums, and from there it was an LJ account leading to...many multiple places, heh). I have been crafty forEVER, though, doing plenty of creating in 4-H for my teenagerhood.

I've invested the most time in quilting, but I also like to knit, crochet, and cross-stitch. I'm getting started into sewing garments -- one of my goals for this year is to sew up some more dresses for myself and have a more me-made wardrobe -- and I primarily share my makes and process on Instagram here. (I used to be real cautious about connecting my RL identity to my fannish one; I'm still fairly cautious but more OK with the bleed-through. If any of my students actually manage to find my fic at this point, like, good for them? But I'll probably link more IG pics here, as it's an easy way to share photos.)

If you don't have IG, here's a post from last year that has some of my favorite fairly recent quilt makes. I...don't actually have much for more recent quilt pics, because this past summer I spent most of my time sewing masks.

Aw, thank you! I'm pretty pleased with them, and a little sad I sent some away. Maybe I need to re-do a similar one for myself? :D

This is a very relaxed community, in fact we're so laid back we're practically horizontal, so don't feel you have to check in, do so when you want to or just stop by to see what's happening. There's usually something pretty to look at - not your mod of course *grins*

Your quilts are gorgeous, I envy your skill and patience, although I know quilting isn't for me. I've hated sewing since needlework lessons at school. Sewing machines hate me.

You have a great selection of crafts to play with, looking forward to seeing more pics of your accomplishments when you have something to share!
