Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I prepped three more projects (two kpop ones for friends and my next sampler for my embroidery class) yesterday post-fishies. did the outline for the ONF one today and got a little more done on the Schitt's Creek cross-stitch that's just filling in black forever and ever. I really want to outline the BTS one but I have other things on my todo list, ugh.

Monthly crafting update in my journal here:
https://xnera.dreamwidth.org/1091942.html

Highlights: the finished blanket for my niece, and I finally completed the doll I was making. SHE'S ALL DONE and I couldn't be happier with the results.

I finished the cherries this morning, but am taking a break from crafting the rest of today. Instead I am cleaning my room. I cleaned out the closet yesterday, and found YARN! in a storage bin. I had thought the bin held finished objects as it was labeled as such, so it was a nice surprise to find some full skeins of yarn that I had forgotten about.

Today's the last day of round 2 in Nerdopolis. My team won their division in round 1, and I'm hoping we'll repeat again this month. I did six projects so I did my part!

Congrats on getting through the door!

At least it was only 4 stitches...usually I realize after far more damage.

I like setup days. You've got a lot lined up!

You've completed a lot this month! Especially glad you got the niece's present done in time.

I poked around a little outside. Pulled a few little weeds, planted some mint starts I'd been rooting into the long narrow flowerbed by the road.

I haven't washed the blanket I finished yet, but decided to take a photo anyway.

that's good, at least!

my problem is picking which one to work on! :D
Sunday, July 31st, 2022 09:40 pm (UTC)
NEVER ending, heh. I usually only work on it when it can be truly mindless, because if I have to really take in how much is left I'll get stressed. But it doesn't have to be done until December, I keep reminding myself!

so many accomplishments! that's awesome! (and I am also a murderbot fan!)

that's just lovely!

Very little crafting was done today: just a couple of heads stitched on. Party because my fi gets were protesting, but mostly because it was finally cool enough to bake. :))

Fantastic!

4 stitches isn't bad. In my case I'd be delighted it was just the last 4!

That blanket is gorgeous!

I finally finished sorting all the threads left at the end of various kits. So now if I'm looking for a particular thread I should be able to find it.

Sounds good. [personal profile] bethctg was so excited about her NamJin one. She sent me a photo and it looks very nice. You sound very busy.

I have filled up my first entire journal with collage. The final page was a blue theme.

Still annoying, though. I'm sooo glad the quiet book framing is behind me - I tend to do a lot of unpicking in that phase.

Goodness, you don't do things by halves, do you? That's quite a to-do list!

The blanket is beautiful; and the doll is great fun, too. I love the cherries as well.

I have to cut back on the felt work a bit for them to recover. Too bad, felt items are the easiest to make in front of the telly. Some paper and popsickle crafts would be better for the fingers, but they take up so much time (and make such a mess) that I just can't make myself switch at the moment.

It is always good to be organized.

Did you make the journal itself, too? If yes, what method did you use?

I love all the various pages. They are so different, and yet make such a good image together.

No, I bought the journal at a bookshop. I bought a back-up, too, which I'll be using next. But now I sort of know what I need (thick pages, sections that can be removed) I will probably look online next time I need to acquire one. Thank you very much. That's a lovely comment.

Nah, they will keep until I am in the mood again.
