Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
Today's Question: No question today.
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Also got about an hour and a half outside, cutting back the overgrown hedge at the bottom of the garden, behind the greenhouses, so I can get along the path to the laurel bush (which is more of a tree) that is wrecking one of the greenhouses. I'm having the laurel removed later in the year, so the tree guys need to be able to get at it. Hoping to clean up the path over the next few days so it's safe to walk on.

Good work on more yard tidying.

Thanks, although it's less tidying and more battling my way through the jungle with secateurs instead of a machete. =/

Got to do as much as I can outside because there's only going to be two more days of good weather before it goes wet and cold again. A drop of 13C overnight between Friday and Saturday =(

You probably won't make that many, but maybe a thimble would help protect your fingertips.

I did start the next baby blanket. It took 3 pattern tries to decide on one I liked. I have about a 4" square so far. It is center out, in shells/waves, and I'm using another of the self-striping yarn. So It's going to make fun effects once I get further along.

- painting another wooden box with illumination style pattern.
- shield still in progress.
- cloak brooches attached to cloak.
- wedding circlet finished.
- silver roses circlet finished.
- new tent poles chiselled, cut and painted.
- decided to put gold trim and beading around a surcote.
- reinforcing sewn on tent wall, but hooks not done.
- silk cushion cut up ready to make flags.
- 3 flower crowns re-glued for sturdiness.
- another made from scratch.
- signs made, printed and laminated for tent.
- dust jackets cut and but on more books.
- Opening ceremony for festival approved, Lord Herald engaged and performers all cast.
- Flu shot didn't try to kill me this year! (Hooray!)
I am tired now. There will be updates and posts, but not for a few days. I'd post more now but, you know, sewing doesn't do itself and the beading on the surcote is taking ages (but looking pretty swish!)
https://sister-raphael.dreamwidth.org/file/8752.jpg for a pic of the cloak brooches attached and the silver circlet on. There's a post up now too, but no more tonight or nothing will get done!

I like the sound of the beading, but it does sound very labour intensive.
You look so Medieval in your new cloak and accoutrements! The brooches are bigger than I thought they were, so striking!
