Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: I've run out of questions!

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Really not what you wanted!

My wool and needles arrived today, so I've made a start to my hat (did the casting on!) Didn't get any further as I needed to begin the stegosaurus, which now has half a body (front half).

No rush, I just wanted to be sure you knew.

No crafting, just cleaning.

But of the 6 cross stitches I did, only 2 people have received their cards. Maybe the post office will eventually deliver them but it's been 3 weeks and 2 weeks, so I'm not hopeful. :(

It's been ages since I checked in but I finished my first hat before Christmas and I love it, it was such a quick knit! I'm still trying to decide whether to just line it with fleece fabric and call it done or try and work out a way to add more heavy duty insulation to it though *indecisive shrug* I've also finished my first ever sock. The cast on wasn't stretchy enough and I misjudged how high the ankle would sit in the example photos and added some unnecessary extra rows, so I'm going to have to either re-knit it or just re-do and graft the cuff back on. I'm thinking re-knit, I'm sure my second and so on goes will be much smoother than my first attempt at turning a heel and all that anyway. My second sock's cuff and heel are already done and the cuff is much better on that.

I had something that arrived in the UK on November 12, then the tracking just stopped. It arrived here (Isle of Man) on Christmas Eve and I *just* got the confirmation email, so your cross stitches may still turn up, albeit very late. Fingers crossed for you!

Oh, that's reassuring. I have been despairing a bit. What irks me most is that I posted 2 envelopes of same size & postage and one arrived in Leeds in 5 days and the other seems to be taking the slow boat to Gloucester, 3 weeks later. And it isn't just the UK. I posted 4 envelopes same postage, same size to 4 different places in the US. The one to NYC arrived in a week, and the rest are still floating in the ether, going on 2 weeks. There was such a hullabaloo around the elections about the postal service in the US but I didn't notice any problems then, so I was lulled into a state of complacency. I hope you're right and they're just delayed. I'm okay with that.
