Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

My crafting mojo is still hiding from the cold, so just a bit of writing and more playing of strange solitaire games, one of which is very charmingly called Grounds For Divorce. Yeah, not playing that again! Found some other good ones, mostly versions of Spider Solitaire.

I was very naughty, got the old laptop set up again last night to try a few more games and didn't get to bed until almost 2 in the morning...

Spider is always a good option. I hope your cold snap is almost over.

I like the three deck version of spider, and quite a few of the variants. There's one called Fred's Spider that's an old favourite too.

I'm hoping next week will see an improvement...

Well done on the writing - what a strange name for Solitaire (appropriate maybe given it's Solitaire?) Glad you've found some good ones though.

Thanks. It was only a 500 word ficlet, but I decided that was enough for the day.

Some of them do have very strange names *grins* I guess they have to be called something...

I was playing a hard one last night (it's called Millie for some reason), and I was just so determined to win that game I ended up not getting to bed until getting on for 2 in the morning. Re-started the blasted thing several times, but I won it!

I've nearly finished the castle puzzle page for Janka's quiet book. Six out of the nine puzzle pieces are finished, Velcro and embellishments for the remaining three are sewn on - all I have to do tomorrow is to stitch those together, and then I can go on to start with the front page.

Finished a tiny bit of a leftover round, I'm now down to 6 remaining rounds on the afghan border.

Windows have been open. Neighbor John has so many roses in bloom now that I can smell them inside my house (there's one house between us).

That must be wonderful, I love the fragrance of roses. The honeysuckle here is coming into bloom. Now if only the weather would warm up I might have that to smell. The warmth brings the scent out.

I need to step up my game and have more flowers here! :D John has a bunch of the more species roses, and they only bloom once per year. His next flower burst will be lilies, he has millions.

Sewed together the pieces of a simple cloth bag.

Fitted together an attempt at a light pelmet for my bedroom.

Fell asleep again so not only is the mini cross stitch not finished, nor my reading journal up to date for May, but I'd wanted to repair a new top I'd got (first time I wore it, I got a hole in the seam - I am not a violent wearer of new clothes, I'm presuming it hadn't properly caught when being made).

That sucks, but maybe tonight...

Some clothes these days don't seem to be very well made unfortunately. At least once you fix it the seam will probably be a lot stronger.

Sounds like you needed sleep. I have a pair of jammies that had a similar seam problem. I only fixed the tiniest spot but the rest is loose, I should have done more.
