Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

I did potter around in the garden for half an hour, but then I came back in and did a little bit of backstitch, the last three corner hearts on the hot air balloon design, and the first one on the flower design. Not a lot but better than nothing.

I discovered part way through my current throw square that I didn't have enough yarn to finish it, so, since I'm not that taken with the textured pattern, it will have stripes.

I had less time than I'd hoped because I was struggling with writing this week's drabbles, but a bit is better than nothing.

I worked a great deal on The Thing of Beauty and managed to finish all the actual pages, even though I had to re-do one because the paper got fatty fingerprints on it. I forgot that I must not touch my face while doing paper crafts - scratching my forehead in deep thought once was enough to ruin the work of roughly 40 minutes!

The second version of the page isn't bad, but the first one - the one I ruined - was so much better. I nearly cried in anger. But it is finished now, which means I can attack the binding part next. That will be another stressful phase, but I hope I'll be able to do it properly. The fact that I've done it at least half a dozen times won't help a bit, I'm afraid.

That is what I keep telling myself when writing doesn't go as it should - which is most of the time, I am afraid. /sigh/

Oh no! How frustrating and disappointing, but so easy a mistake to make.

Still, well done for finishing the pages even though you had to re-do one. The binding sounds very difficult though. Just take your time with it and hopefully it won't prove too trying.

Been tatting a lot recently, though I should be crocheting, because a friend of mine is pregnant, and binding squares together is something I can do while watching a show.

But recently I tried a new ice drop pattern:



And I also made a couple of bookmarks:



The fact is, tatting with crochet cotton really doesn't look or feel as good as using proper tatting cotton, but tatting cotton is expensive and I have a lot of crochet cotton in my stash that needs to be used. So here goes nothing, I guess...

That's a lovely pattern for the ice drop, and the bookmarks are gorgeous, especially the rainbow flowers!

Stripes are easy - I'm just changing colours every few rows, so not complicated.
