The gales came from the West, not the usual direction, so they weren't slamming into the back of the house. Not as bad as it could have been, I think my area came through it intact. Wind speeds were only up to 76 mph though, other places probably got hit far worse, but now the forecast is saying SNOW! No thanks, I'll pass. =/

We didn't get it as bad as we'd expected either, I ventured out, as is was a volunteering day, and stayed there during the worst of the storm before driving home.

Goodness! Up north we got almost nothing and it's been so surreal to have sunshine coming through the window while reading reports of what you're going through down south. Hope you're staying safe ♥

I'm in the middle of Britain. We get hammered every now and then, but it's usually not too bad. I have friends in Florida though, and they have a rough time with tropical storms and hurricanes.

Florida for sure gets it very badly. I used to live on the Gulf Coast of Texas and we had some bad ones, too.

Indoors is the only place I want to be right now. The wind stopped yesterday evening, I woke up to reasonable weather for my birthday morning, but that lasted about an hour. Now it's pouring with rain bordering on sleet, and temps of 5C *sigh* Happy 60th birthday to me from the weather gremlins. That's what I get for being born in Feb. I should've refused to come out until spring ;)

Came through it okay, but now the gales are back for the next 24 hours or so. Wind speeds only up to 55mph though, not nearly as bad as the last lot.

Socks are great fun! Very portable and mostly easy knitting. The heel and toe can be a bit fiddlier, but not vastly so.
