Check-In Post January 1st 2022

achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: Do you have any crafting goals for this year?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I'm fully in favour of doing the crafts you want. Projects can be adjusted as you move through the year.

This year my plan to read my TBR pile faster than it grows!

At the beginning of 2017, I had logged all my books (or almost all) and realised that if I didn't acquire any more books and reduced the books I already had by 50 per year it was going to take me 19.5 years to get through the books. I also acknowledged that there was no way I wasn't going to acquire any more. Since then I have been working hard to reduce the waiting pile regardless of what comes in by a minimum of 50 - kind of successfully. As of January 1st, I'm down to 10.36 years to finish what's on the shelf - realistically they will never all be read but at least I'm slowing the overwhelm and regaining my space by dealing with the issue albeit slowly - there are less books stored in inaccessible boxes in the loft and garage. I'd like another few years of really good progress (above the 50) and then I can relax and just keep a balance between incoming and outgoing.
