Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Ears to the left of you, ears to the right...

I've finished the neck band of mini Hobbit's cardigan and sewn it down, so all that remains is the two button bands, so it's going all right.

I'm pleased - I've got to the point when I want it finished.

Behold the 5th batch of the GCBF:

From the left:
Almond-chocolate biscuits with red currant jam
Chestnut fingers and birdies
Orange hearts
Cinnamon stars
Chocolate stars
Karlsbader Krapferln

Today I've decorated the chocolate stars and the chestnut birds (they didn't have beaks yet) and glued together the two parts of the Karlsbader Krapferln with apricot jam.

It is a terrible fate but someone has to bear it. *g*

There's always a point when even the most pleasant craft projects need to go to an end. Good luck with the last stretch!

No knitting today, but I did do some cross-stitch this morning (a little Xmas tree kit that came with my first card of the year) as I’ve been feeling rather unmotivated by my current knitting projects lately.

As I mentioned before: now that the simple cookies are done, the fancy biscuits take over... *g*

The good thing with crafting is that you can always find something that you may enjoy.

Yep, we've reached the phase where the really fancy biscuits come. BTW, the little birds were created accidentally... I just made the best I could from some shapeless creations made with the piping bag. ;)

Had a day off yesterday visiting family, but today made some craft-related calendars using photos of my favourite medieval things.

Post and photos here: https://medievalrosalie.livejournal.com/73494.html also posted in DW

Also borrowed a heap of pretty fabric pieces to use as backgrounds for book photos since they aren't shiny like paper when I take photos. Later, I can add text to suit the occasion.

Sometimes it's good to do something that takes less mental energy. Cross stitch is good for that.

I forced myself to do something constructive and made a batch of gingerbread cookies. I made the dough yesterday before going to hang Christmas lights on the new house fence and pillars, then came back this morning and rolled, cut and baked. No decorating them, just plain gingerbread as it's not being used for gifts. If I feel up to it, maybe next weekend will be shortbread or rumballs, and a hummingbird cake since we inventoried the pantry and found not one, but two cans of crushed pineapple. We joked that it means I must have promised to make it twice before and each time Mum went out of her way to make sure we bought a tin, since that's the only thing we use it for.
