I don't think I've ever had a deadline for a craft project, except maybe a few Christmas cards years ago. Next week I have to go to the office twice, so I realised I now need two masks - since the disposable ones don't fit my face very well, so today was a sewing day. My first mask made ages ago was three layers of old patchwork fabrics I had. Today's is like the luxury upgrade because the only other materials I had in my "inside" sewing box were fancy fabrics. It's white satin with a lace layer on top that ended up making the white satin appear silver, and the back is black crushed panne which feels nice but will probably be hellish on a warm day. My fingers are sore from all the handstitching but it was a good way to pass two hours of very boring tax webinar training. I'm not that happy with one of the side seams as it's thicker than the other and doesn't bunch as well but I've already unpicked it and resewn it once so I'm not doing it again.
