The afghan sounds like a big project. Glad to hear you eventually managed to figure out where you'd got to. I have a sweater that I haven't worked on in years because I couldn't work out where I was on the first sleeve. Doesn't help that it's black and very lacy. One day I might have another try on it, or I might start the sleeve again.
