Ah, Firefox! I don't use it, but I do have it on my computer.

Open the browser and look at the top righthand corner, there are three short lines, one under another. Click on that, go down to History on the menu and click on that. Then click Clear Recent History. It'll give you some options for what you want to clear. Go for Browsing History, Cookies, and Cache. Select your time range, then just click OK and it will clear all the junk you don't need. I clear my browser history daily, that stuff mounts up. Might make your computer run a bit better. Cookies I clear weekly because having to log in everywhere again can be a pain. It doesn't always log me out of everywhere, but...

Anyway, you should clear everything cookie-wise to start with, and browsing history too, then just keep on top of it by regularly clearing it. You might have to allow certain cookies again, but you can usually reject cookies if they're offered.
