I've finished the first of the two Japanese bird cross stitch designs slightly ahead of schedule. Still haven't decided if it needs some backstitch, which might depend on how much time I have left once the second one is done. It's also the first kit where I ran out of some colours but luckily scrounged a few spare bits from other completed kits. Strange since they're usually so generous with the threads and I'm also pretty frugal with waste. Might come down to not having enough to do the backstitch. At a distance they don't look so bad, but I think the flower clusters need some more definition. Still have to order the frames and hope they don't break the glass during delivery (our postal service always toss parcels around like they're all made of marshmallows). I should probably order them sooner rather than later in case I have to return broken ones.
