I must admit I'm the opposite when it comes to yarn. As much as I love pure wool, the one sweater I made with it got destroyed by moths so these days it's hardwearing 100% acrylic yarns for me. I had to throw out all the pure wool in my stash because it had been reduced to scraps by the moth infestation.
Your yarn looks lovely, I hope you'll post some pics when the cardigan is finished.
I've never knitted socks, always preferred sweaters, although I started out with baby clothes when my sister told me I was to be an auntie. I love fancy stitches, cables and lace patterns, not keen on stocking stitch although that's best for some yarns like the blobby stuff I'm using for one sweater.
