Check-In Post May 25th 2023

Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I got the numbers 1-12 cut out and applied to the cards. That's all the crafting I managed today. I was completely flattened after my shopping tour. Even though I actually "borrowed" the shopping cart from the supermarket to get all those 1,5l bottles of ginger ale, mineral water and milk home (no chance doing so by hand), keeping the cart balanced was a real power act. All pavements lean towards the road (probably to allow rain water to flow down), so the stupid cart was trying to go that way, too. Aside from the bottles (all 20 of them) I also had fruit and veggies, so the weight was considerable. Taking the empty cart back nearly unbalanced me with its unexpected lightness. *g*

But no, I was in no shape to do any delicate work after that.

About two and a half more rows on the infinity scarf; it's about three inches wide now out of a goal of seven, and I'm coming up on the last of the second skein out of five. I hoped to start the third tonight but just ran out of time.

Craft wise today, I finished the border on the 4th not-a-baby-blanket. I also did the first four rows of the shawl along with the online tutorial. (All of Red Heart yarn's free patterns have video tutorials anymore, though they are a pain to find.) The next 6 rows are repeats of what I've already done, so hopefully they will take up the time of fiber group tomorrow.

The rest of the day was grocery shopping and running errands to help cut down on the need to leave the house during the festival weekend. The tourists are already causing problems. And I finished up all, but one of the activities for the library reading challenge I'm doing that ends at the end of this month.
