Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Still not feeling in the mood for crafting, or much of anything, although I made myself get some writing done. I haven't missed a day in over 10 years.


I did finish clearing out the coal house this morning, which was a lot of effort. I really wasn't up to doing anything yesterday. All the dry coal is now in the shed, with some in the house for use tomorrow when we've got heavy rain forecast. My coalman told me a couple of people recently have asked if he can bring them DRY coal *laughs* With all the rain we've been having, the coal being wet is inevitable. The load I've just had delivered will dry out gradually, hopefully before I run out of the dry stuff.

We had our big cleaning frenzy today, so there wasn't much time (or energy) left for anything else. I did dig out the lining for the book pages, though, and put away some craft supplies I'm not going to need in the near future.

It has been raining all day over here, too, and I'm already dreading the fact that tomorrow I'll have to go food shopping. Good job finishing the coal house cleaning; that will make your life easier for a while. Hopefully.

Busy day for you. Putting away things you don't need right now is always sensible.

I'll have to trek to the shed for coal instead of just nipping out the back door, at least until the wet coal has dried out, but as long as it isn't pouring with rain it's not so bad.

That sounds an interesting pattern! What always fascinates me is how many different patterns there are in quilting

I have finished weaving in ALL the ends on the blanket! \o/ I clicked my row counter every time I wove in an end. Missed clicking some times, but there were over 170 ends from the seaming! No wonder it took me days.

Last thing to do is some kind of border. The pattern calls for a simple slip stitch in back loop only, but I saw a bunch of people did the candy cane border so I'm going to give that a try!

I also made a list of things I'd like to finish this year. Not just craft things, but the crafting projects totaled THIRTY-FOUR WIPs, according to my Ravelry notebook. I even deleted some of them that I knew I'd never go back to. Wow.

I only had energy to knit today, so there was a lot of stitch and stream, and YouTube and knitting, and napping, and wondering if I should just take a nap.

Technically, I also ordered phone cases for my mother and aunt this morning, but mostly because they ambushed me while I was making breakfast.

For stich and stream, I watched the first three episodes of the last season of Dear White People and the first three episodes of the animated Harley Quinn show.

I haven't measured the scarf, but I hit the first 16 inches, so I got to switch from the garter ridge pattern to the 2x2 ribbing (which I am supposed to do for 10 inches). I appear to be about 4 inches into the 2x2 ribbing section.

Not having missed a day of writing in over 10 years is quite a feat.

That is quite a WIP list. I made a similar list once, it was terrifying. Good on you deleting the ones you know you won't go back to.

Hurrah! That is a LOT of ends! But you persevered and got them done!

Thirty four WiPs is a huge number, but you completed a lot of projects last year and I have no doubt you'll at least put a significant dent in your list. Is your dragon on it?

Thank you! Admittedly there were a couple of days I managed less than 50 words, but it still counted. Writing daily has helped me get through some awful times.

The fresh (and very wet) coal is now in the coalhouse, hopefully beginning to dry out, while the rain pours outside. Thankfully I have enough dry coal in the house that I wont need to go out in the rain.

Yes, the Small Eastern dragon is on the list, but I actually have other dragons on it, too!

7 Small Eastern Dragon - on mouth
8 Dragon Blanket Square - frogged due to stitch count mishap, still on list for a future attempt
20 Tarragon the Gentle Dragon - I'd still like to make this sometime

Guess I like dragons, haha! The blanket square will be double knitted, and is for my future Final Fantasy blanket (unsure if it will be a lap blanket or a throw, we'll see how many squares I come up with.)

Well, you're not the only one here. Dragons are my favourite mythical creature, and I know smallhobbit also likes them. Hopefully you'll successfully complete all the dragons on your list!

Family tends to do that, though. "Just a minute, I don't want to waste your time..." Half an hour later you are allowed to continue your own thing, only to have your concentration broken and no longer feeling like doing it.
