A matinee coat for my nephew. It was one of many, but I wished I'd never started the blasted thing. It was a simple pattern with vertical bands of garter stitch and stocking stitch, and it looked effective, but it was horrible to knit because it was in 4-ply, was in one piece up to the armhole so there were a lot of stitches, and it was such a tedious pattern to knit. It just never seemed to grow. With plain stocking stitch I can knit and read at the same time, but with this I had to pay attention to what I was doing, and it just went on, and on, and on. I've never been so glad to finish a project.
